Canterbury Quaddie Preview Sat, 12 Nov 2011

Mike Brown

The Quaddie looks tough as it goes on so it will pay to go light in the first leg so a spread can be used later on.

The first leg looks between two horses. They are the two who quinellaed the race on the first day, Tropical Storm and Supremacy. Stagehand if you can afford to put another runner in.

Verdict: Supremacy, Tropical Storm and Stagehand.

There are many chances in the second leg. Titch was too bad to be true on Wednesday but has performed well on a quick back up before. Showcause is last year's winner and his form in Melbourne was top class. Blood Brotha got caught wide on the first day as did The Jungle Boy and both have claims. Yours made ground well on the first day as did Trilogy who was a winner at this meeting last year. Mystique is in solid form.

Verdict: Put as many in as you can but go with the above mentioned. Titch, Showcause, Blood Brotha, The Jungle Boy, Yours, Mystique, Trilogy.

The third leg is an even lot. Our Mona Lisa won at the cup carnival last year and is an improver on her last run. Cee Gee Jay will appreciate the wet track as will Pero who was too wide on the first day. Alpine Heights and Ganache have been running sound races too.

Verdict: Our Mona Lisa and Pero, if you can afford it add Cee Gee Jay, Alpine Heights and Ganache.

The last leg looks a good chance for Excusable to bounce back to winning form. He was too wide on the first day and likes it wet. Lamour is another mudlark. Milo and Aldebaran Star are drawn wide which will be an asset late in the day.

Verdict: Excusable, Lamour will like it wet, Milo and Aldebaran Star will be in the right spot.
