Trackwork

Rising Tide showed he was ready for the step up to open class tomorrow with an impressive final gallop at Awapuni this morning.

Fast work held on the middle of the heavy No 1 grass, the plough (slow) and on the sand (good).

Rising Tide used the No 1 grass and galloped strongly throughout 1200m in 1:19.5, the last 600m in 38.6. Despite carrying a light weight, his work could not have been better leading into Saturday's Ricoh Feilding Gold Cup.

Zane Bay, who tackles the r70 mile, had Adidazler (mdn mile) for a partner over 800m in 50.5, the last 600m in 38.9, while the latter’s race rivals Jamomiti and Masih Chiantik came up with 51.2 and 38.4. Last-start winner Zerbreeze (r80 1400m) took 51.6 and 38.8.

Stormy Lass and Princess Lincoln were paired over 800m in 53.6, the last 600m in 39.2, with Bar Keeper and Platinum Purrfect recording 52.7 and 40.3. Smart Molly had jumps jockey Hayley Curran aboard over 1000m in 1:06.8, the last 600 in 40.2.

Wotabuzz, in Saturday's r80 2300m, began at speed from the mile and was timed from the 1200m in 1:21.8, the last 600m in 41.7, and his stablemate Logicality ran 800m in 54.4, the last 600m in 41.2. Miss Marauder (r80 1400m) sprinted 600m in 41.6.

Tricatchme and Really Explosive (by O'Reilly), both trained by Lisa Latta, went together over 800m in 56.2, the last 600m in 42.4. Lizzie's Girl and a Perfectly Ready two-year-old filly clocked 57.8 and 42.3.

Redcraze Bowl prospect Cassini was sent 1000m in 1:12.3, the last 600m in 42.8, while That'sourexcuse and Jerrico, race rivals in the maiden 1300m at Feilding, were kept to 800m in 58.7, the last 600m in 43.9.

Derby Dan covered 1000m in 1:13.6, the last 600m in 44.6, with Little Drummer Boy and Fort Lincoln doing three-quarter pace over 800m as did Sacha (Redcraze Bowl).

On the plough, Manonamission (Redcraze Bowl) was timed 800m in 54, the last 600m in 40.6, while Pinot Davone and Jilted took 55.5 and 40.3. Anagram (mdn 1300m) ended with 600m in 40.1.

A Duelled gelding trained by Greg Lambert and an Oratorio filly with Tony Bambry sprinted 600m in 40.3, and Albus (r80 1400m) had Ryan Hurdle in the saddle over 800m in 54, the last 600m in 41.1.

Feilding runner Dalfield Lass (mdn 1300m) ran 800m in 59.4, the last 600m in 42.8, and her stablemate We Are Royal (r70 mile) required 58.9 and 43.1. Sir Thomas went 1000m in 1:12.7 and 43.

On the sand, Feilding Gold Cup chance Fazza had Swipe alongside over 1000m in 1:07.1, the last 600m in 39.8, and their stablemate Nuits St Georges (r70 mile) took 1:06.5 and 39.7.
